Picks of the Week: Jan 27, 2020

Okay, yes, this is sold out, and it’s been sold out for quite a while. Sangiev made a video showcasing this shirt a few years ago, and I wish I had seen the video earlier and gotten the shirt before it was gone. I’ve recently been considering trying to make one myself using a sewing pattern. I have mixed feelings about pussy bow shirts, but I think this one does it well. The pattern, while not too tame, is not super aggressive, and teal color of the shirt helps as well. I also like that there is a normal shirt collar, as opposed to some of the stand-up collars that usually accompany the pussy bow, so the shirt doesn’t look as incomplete should you choose not to tie the scarf.

I’m not really sure how I would wear these trousers, but I think they’re cool. They definitely aren’t the most versatile, with a relatively loud print and color accent. They’re ASOS, so they’re made of polyester and therefore probably not the most breathable, but if they are still lightweight enough, the trousers would be nice for not-too-hot summer days or summer evenings, with their wide fit and lighter pattern.

I don’t need any more black boots. But these are waterproof, and having some experience with some of Cole Haan’s waterproof boots before, I can definitely vouch for them. I do a good amount of walking around outside during the day, and these would be especially nice when it’s raining. As mentioned in a previous post, I like boots that are taller and have a slimmer shaft, which it looks like these do. I think these would work for both smart looks with trousers and a solid button-down as well as something more edgy with skinny denim and a printed shirt.
