About
I'm Jalin, and I’m an auditor at a public accounting firm in the US. As glamorous as that may sound, I also have an interest in the glamour of fashion. This blog is for me to post my Thoughts about clothing and designers, as well as share some of my own outfits and inspiration. My style is constantly evolving, so this can be a place to follow that journey.
My current style is hard to describe; I’d call it a mix of rockstar-pirate-cowboy-pilgrim-vampire-chic, with some added lazy luxe element. The list of adjectives grows by the day. My favorite designers at the moment are Haider Ackermann, Saint Laurent, and Ann Demeulemeester. While my philosophy used to be to buy a lot of cheap(er) clothes from high street brands such as ASOS, H&M, Zara, etc., I have recently begun to try to spend a bit more money on fewer but much higher quality pieces, which is not only better for my seemingly infinitely expanding clothing collection (but not infinitely expanding closet space), but also for the environment. I still love a good thrift shop find, and I often like to alter clothing I’ve found at thrift/vintage stores to look more like designer pieces.
I am not an expert in anything not accounting-related, so take everything you read with a healthy grain of salt.
Measurements:
Height: 5’4” / 163 cm
Chest: 35 in / 89 cm
Waist: 31 in / 79 cm
Usually I wear a men’s XS or S in tops, depending on the fit, and a size 34S (EU 44S) in tailoring. I am almost always a size 30 waist. Shoe size is 39–40 depending on the shoes.
I seem to have a bit more range in womenswear; I can be anywhere from a S-XL (US 4 and above, EU 36 and above) in tops depending on how I want it to look/fit, and usually a M-L (US 6-8, EU 38-40) in trousers. Women’s shoes can be anywhere from size 36.5-39.
